Prof. Gimenez-Jimenez with her colleagues Prof. Saadat Saaed (Durham University Business School, UK), Prof. Andrea Calabrò (IPAG Business School, France), and Sascha Kraus (Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy) just published the article “Preparing the successor through familial support and legitimacy: a multilevel framework.” In this article, they studied how family at the parental and societal levels creates a nurturing environment that leads to succession intentions in family businesses. The study provides a nuanced explanation for the family mechanisms and societal values that drive the succession intentions for family businesses’ next generations.
